We formalized the Therapeutic Home Environment.

Across four peer-reviewed publications, we formalized the Therapeutic Home Environment — a distinct category of chronic care defined by three pillars: biophilic design, indoor environmental quality, and intentional self-care spaces.

The Therapeutic Home Environment framework enables optimization of the home environment to: (1) support autonomic, circadian, and emotional regulation, (2) reduce allostatic load and physiological insults from the environment, and (3) foster evidence-informed self-care practices designed to support daily comfort, routines, and self-care at home. It is the foundation of our digital health platform, our assessment instruments, and the program we are running today.
